Blame @Lymus for the contest title, but July's contest is exactly that: fill in the bubbles! What does that mean? Well, you'll take the provided manga page which has been cleaned for you in advance, and you'll fill in the bubbles to tell a story on that page! It can be funny, sad, serious, or romantic. You're the author! You decide whether or not your editor is going to ruin your hopes and dreams of becoming a pro mangaka and being published in Young King! Rules: 1. Captions have to be safe for work. 2. Don't plagiarize. Dunno how you could plagiarize a caption contest, but just don't. 3. Only one entry per person. Choose your words wisely. :v Timeline: You have until 9 AM EST on August 1 to submit your entries. Any entries after that, whether or not I'm around to lock the thread, will be disqualified. Prizes: @Lymus will be providing game keys from the Steam Platform to the winner and runner up. @Zephyrus will be providing a gift card to Amazon to the winner. Without further ado, here's the image! ![]() Please post your entry here: Entry Thread and ping me so I'm aware of your entry. Best of luck to everyone! Last edited 1 year ago by MangaDex. |

Guys, I can't believe how funny you are! I honestly thought we had a bunch of boring people here. (jk) Keep up the good work! @Sarusa I'm gonna delete your comment because I'd like that to be an entry only thread. If you want to answer questions, please do so here. Thanks! |

Gotcha @Zephyrus @Operatix Your pic is probably smaller than the others because you're using ibb.co and everyone else is using tinypic or imgur. Oh, and for anyone who has trouble with boring fonts, this is a godsend: https://www.reddit.com/r/manga/comments/3tkp0c/300_fonts_for_scanlation/. I used CCWild, but it's all better than Helvetica. @Operatix yours is probably smaller because Zephyrus originally cleaned a smaller version of the page, which can be found in the TokyoPop release here in MangaDex, I grabbed a 1600px from EBJ and cleaned it myself, then I provided it to Plykiya and he replaced the smaller one with this bigger one. Momojojo's is small too. Last edited 1 year ago by MangaDex. |

@AnimeELover With an image editing software such as Photoshop, Gimp, MSPaint, Microsoft PowerPoint. |

@m3ch_mania As per the rules, only one entry is permitted. Would you please choose which one you'd like to submit? @AnimeELover I'm not much of a graphic artist, but you could try Gimp. It's free and has some easy text tools! Maybe someone here can offer further advice. |

@AnimeELover Here's how to do it with Gimp First (optional, but it will look much better), download the fonts from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/manga/comments/3tkp0c/300_fonts_for_scanlation/ Unzip the file. Choose the fonts you want to install in file explorer, right click, Install. Now MSPaint (and other programs) can see them. I'd suggest using CCWild. For easier font management, use https://nexusfont.en.softonic.com/, but that'll work. Next, save @Zephyrus's image up there. Right click, save image. Get Gimp from https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ and install it. Then read this: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/GIMP/Add_Speech_Bubbles_to_a_Comic_Strip. You don't have to use any of the bits about making a speech bubble or background gradient, because the comic already comes with all the bubbles. Save your image as a gimp file (so you don't lose any of the layers), then save the image as a png file. Upload the png image to some free image hosting site like imgur or tinypic. Rightclick the web image on the website and 'copy image location'. Go to the contest entry thread http://beta.mangadex.unblocked2.icu/thread/15103, add a post, then add spoiler, img tags, and paste the url you got from the 'copy image location'. Should look like this except with your own image url, not mine: [spoiler][img]https://i.imgur.com/Nv8Rwrh.png[/img][/spoiler] Now, since you still have the original gimp file, if you decide you screwed up you can go back and fix it, then save as png again, re-upload to imgur (or wherever) and edit your post with the new URL. I had to do that when I realized I had the wrong font in the last two bubbles. It's a lot of work the first time, but once you're used to it it's pretty easy. Last edited 1 year ago by MangaDex. |

@arsankin The instructions are on the first post on this thread. As for where you can post your picture, you can do it for free on imgur.com. Just follow the examples on the linked Entry Thread (also on the first post). |
